Some people talk a good game, and many of us talk better than we "do". But you remember that your mom taught you that actions speak louder than words. If you played sports you know that all the good intentions in the world don't count as much as the actions on the field or court. Jesus had very specific ideas about how to engage life. Join us as we worship and listen wholeheartedly to Jesus. In person and livestream worship begin Sunday at 10:45am. It never feels right when somebody makes a mistake with our name, whether they call us by someone else's name or mispronounce ours. Christians are told to baptize Jesus' followers "in the name of the Father...." What's that about? We explore the deep significance of that Sunday, with worship starting at 10:45 am. What does it mean to follow Jesus? And how does it happen? And what does Jesus enjoy about the process? We will explore this together Sunday, October 17, with the livestream beginning at 10:45 am. Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” (John 20:21) I bet the disciples wondered: but where are we going? Jesus clear call is to go the ends of the earth with the good news of God's love and Jesus' resurrection from the dead. But is that the only place his followers are to go? Let's look at what Jesus said as we continue our 8 week series on the Great Commission. This worship service will be live at 10:45 am, Sunday, October 10, 2021. Last Sunday we encountered the beginning of Jesus’ words to his disciples commissioning them (and us!) to make disciples. Just as the Father sent Jesus, so Jesus is sending us — we are commissioned! We will explore that more in Scripture, song, and the sacrament Sunday, October 3, live-streamed beginning at 10:45 a.m. |
