V is for Vision
What’s your vision? What kind of person are you trying to become? Paul calls on the Christians in Corinth to become like Christ. Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. (1 Corinthians 11:1) What example? In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage…. (Philippians 2:5–6) — and -- For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. (Mark 10:45) Jesus knew who he was and what he was about. How hard it is to have that same kind of clarity! The paradox is this: we don’t get clarity by seeking clarity; we get clarity about who we are and what we’re here for by seeking Jesus. Healthy clarity comes by getting to know his mindset and his heart. Without a vision for becoming like Christ in heart and mind, we won’t. We can’t drift into maturity. What kind of person would you like to become? What’s your vision? Comments are closed.
