The beauty of the Christmas season sometimes reminds us of the people we have lost or the losses we have suffered. Winter solstice — the longest, darkest night of the year — is a good time to gather, to sit with our griefs, and to offer them up to God. Our annual “Blue Christmas” service is a time to remember and name the losses that come as part of living as caring persons, looking forward with hope and peace.
